What Parents Say

Mother

“The team assigned to my son is wonderful. They are happy to provide insight and guidance to help my child via weekly reports, texts, and phone calls. Within a month of them working with my child he has grown tremendously. He went from minimal/ no talking, minimal variety of foods due to texture, and frequent tantrums to a singing happy child, who eats everything now and minimal tantrums. We are only at the beginning of his journey but the team gives me hope for the future.”

“I honestly don’t know where I would be without EI…my therapist (all of them) were so helpful and supportive. They answered all my questions and provided me with soooo much information. A lot of the information I still use and try to pass on to other people with special needs children. The team I had gave me such a great foundation to build on in order to support my grandchild. I am so grateful to them, words can never describe our appreciation for them!!!”

“Kids & Family therapists are competent, professional and overall amazing ! My daughter receives SLP & OT services. I met individually with each therapist, they listened to my concerns, observed my daughter, and developed goals based on these interactions. During my meeting with the OT, I shared that my child often puts non-food items in her mouth. She immediately asked about her Iron and Lead levels and recommended testing for both. I took her to the doctor for the recommended testing, and she indeed had an iron deficiency which can increase the need to eat non-food items. This was so helpful, because I didn’t think about it and her PCP didn’t mention it. I will recommend Kids & Family EI services to everyone.”

“I really couldn’t have asked for a better team for my daughter. She has a very complex medical history and has spent much of her life in and out of hospitals. However, her team was so supportive not to only my daughter but our whole family. Her team went above and beyond to give us the services needed to help my daughter exceed her doctors' expectations. Her Physical Therapist and her Occupational Therapist challenged her (with care and encouragement) and also showed us many exercises and techniques to do at home that we still implement in our routine to this day that have helped her development immensely. Her social worker gave us all the resources we needed to help make my daughter comfortable at home like providing us with diapers and giving us the information to receive a handicapped parking placard and space in front of our home.”

Caregiver

“My experience with Kids and Family has been tremendous. All providers, including Kyah have taught me different styles and strategies which helped my twin nephews communicate effectively. From May 2023 through January 2024, I was educated on food presentations, reading short phrases, emphasizing hands-on activities such as painting, coloring, singalongs and observing their behaviors due to crankiness and hunger. I strongly recommend Kids and Family EI services to families in Philadelphia who need services for their children. It makes a true difference when parents engage 100 percent and naturally teach the learned strategies.”
